Sometimes I want to share just a few photos and maybe whet your appetite to visit someplace new. So now, I will send “postcards” from time to time. Enjoy!
Weddings are a great excuse to visit new parts of the country. This was my first time in the mountains of North Carolina and I’ll be back!
The town of Highlands is picture postcard perfect with something for everyone: outdoor enthusiasts, art lovers, shoppers and people who just want to relax.
Waterfalls abound and there are well-marked trails leading to them.
The Bascom Center for the Arts has wonderful outdoor sculptures as well as rotating exhibits and extensive courses.
One day I would like to spend a week or two hiking, taking art classes and soaking up the mountain air here. Wouldn’t you?!?

Wow, beautiful and beautiful photos! We do seem to spend a lot of time in NC – it may be our future home – no time soon! We love the mountains but had hoped to spend a month in Wilmington and explore the coast. But alas, the campgrounds are all booked up.
Hope to get to Highlands sometime….
