Were it possible to fall in love with a beverage, Caffe in ghiaccio con latte di mandorla (iced espresso with almond milk) would be the target of my affections. We met one day on a sunny square in Santa Cesarea Terme and my life has never been the same. Almond milk has become tremendously popular in the United States in recent years, but generations have made it in the Salento region of Italy, which is effectively the heel of the boot that is Italy. There it stars in an iced espresso drink that is easy to make at home. All you need to do is pour two shots of espresso over ice and add almond milk (ideally fresh – see recipe here) to taste. If you don’t have an espresso maker, brew some strong coffee (or buy some Stumptown Cold Brew). Salute!
Oh, that looks delicious! I’ll have to visit this region someday… It will be my most caffeinated holiday ever 😀

wow…now I’m starving! Your photos are excellent, and the whole blog is lovely. I have never been to Denmark, so at least I can get there through your pictures…..blogs are the way I travel nowadays. 🙂
