Croatia has become an extremely popular destination in recent years, due in no small part to Game of Thrones‘ enormous success. Dubrovnik is lovely and GOT fans can visit many of the sites made famous by the show. However, Croatia’s charm is best manifested in the lesser known locales and especially the islands off the Dalmatian Coast. (See previous posts: Meet Me in Mljet, Lavandar Man and Other Reasons to Visit Hvar, and Island Time.)
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this video is priceless. Watch it to be transported to a magical place where fleur de sel is collected on rocky shores, octopus are caught by hand and the waters are crystal clear. You may even be inspired to book your plane tickets and stay with Ivan and his family (My Mljet).
I’m booking my ticket to Croatia! Your video sold me.

Beautiful picture. I didn’t know GOT was shot in Croatia.
Is Croatia in Europe?
Have a great week ahead.

Thank you Anand! Yes, much of GOT is filmed in and around Dubrovnik. Croatia is in Europe, close to Greece.
